  • For the Breakthrough Jumpstart and Foundation Builder packages there is flexibility to schedule the clarity session on the same day as the coaching session.

What is the difference between life coaching and therapy?

Life coaching and therapy differ in several key areas. Life coaches serve as guides, focusing on personal growth, professional development, and goal achievement. They encourage behavior changes and perspective shifts for self-improvement and can even support improvements in physical health, emotional well-being, and financial wellness. Coaches are not certified therapists and do not provide mental health treatment or clinical care; their approach is rooted in positive psychology and sustainable behavior change.

On the contrary, therapists are licensed mental health professionals with specific educational requirements. They aim to understand and change psychological patterns, diagnose and treat mental health needs, and improve mental and emotional well-being using various therapeutic techniques such as CBT and EMDR. Some therapists can also prescribe medication for psychological and mental health conditions. Therapists often collaborate with a client’s medical care team to enhance their overall well-being. While coaching can resemble talk therapy, the two are distinctly different in practice and purpose.

How are the coaching sessions conducted?

All clarity and coaching sessions are conducted online via either Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

What can I expect in a typical coaching session?

In a typical coaching session with me, we will start with a brief check-in, discussing your progress and any challenges since our last meeting. The bulk of the session will focus on one major topic or goal, using a range of coaching techniques like guided reflection or role-playing exercises. Sessions usually last around 60 minutes. I encourage active participation, open communication and note taking from my clients and I often challenge you with reflection exercises to be completed between sessions. I provide additional resources to support your growth and maintain email contact between sessions for any immediate concerns. 

What kind of commitment do I need to make?

Starting your coaching journey is a valuable investment in yourself. It involves dedicating time each week for our sessions, as well as some personal reflection time in between. The duration of our partnership can vary, often between a few months to a year, depending on your unique goals and progress. Your financial investment will reflect the value of the transformative process we’ll embark on together. This journey will invite you to explore new perspectives, make meaningful changes, and step outside your comfort zone at your own pace. It’s important to come prepared to share and be open, but rest assured, our sessions will be a safe and supportive space. Remember, this process is about nurturing your growth and you’re the one steering the wheel. I’ll be here to guide and support you every step of the way.

How long does each coaching session last?

Each coaching session lasts 60 minutes.

How frequently are the coaching sessions held?

Coaching sessions typically take place every week or bi-weekly. The coach and client will mutually agree on what frequency works best based on the client’s goals.

What happens if I need to reschedule a session or forget to show up?

Your appointments are very important to Sonia Joseph Coaching.  They are reserved especially for you. We understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary.  Therefore, we respectfully request at least a 24-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. We will attempt in good faith to reschedule the missed meeting.

Please understand that when you forget, cancel, or change your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and potential clients miss the opportunity to receive our coaching services.

Any appointment where the client show’s up over 10 minutes late, doesn’t show up, cancels, or changes without 24-hour notice will result in a charge equal to 100% of the reserved service amount.

How do you measure progress?

In our coaching sessions, progress is primarily measured by your achievement towards clearly defined goals. We’ll consistently review and evaluate these goals together, noting advancements and recalibrating as needed. Additionally, improvements in aspects like self-awareness, decision-making, and overall life satisfaction are key indicators of your personal growth. Remember, progress can be gradual and may not always follow a linear path. But rest assured, I’ll be there to guide and support you throughout this journey.

What resources or tools do you provide to support my growth?

To support your growth in our coaching journey, I offer a variety of resources and tools tailored to your needs. These include role-playing exercises to help you navigate different scenarios, communication strategies to improve your interpersonal skills, and the Wheel of Life exercise to give you a holistic view of your current life balance. Additionally, I may provide worksheets, guided meditations, reading materials, or other tools that align with your goals. Remember, each tool is aimed at supporting your self-discovery and personal growth in a way that resonates with you.

What are your fees? Do you offer any packages or discounts?

Do you offer a free consultation or discovery session?

I am offering a complimentary Clarity Session to all potential clients. This session is an opportunity for us to discover your unique goals and offers a preview into our coaching journey together, setting clear expectations of the transformative process ahead.

What happens if I'm not satisfied with the coaching?

Your satisfaction is my highest priority. If at any point you’re not content with our coaching process, I encourage transparency about your concerns. It’s important for us to understand and address what might not be working so we can adjust our approach. However, if despite our best efforts, you’re still not satisfied, I offer a 30-day money-back policy from the time of payment. 

What form of ethics do you hold yourself to as a coach?

I hold myself accountable to the Global Code of Ethics.

The Global Code of Ethics (the Code) is the most comprehensive code of ethics for those working in the world of coaching, mentoring, and supervision. The first version of the Code jointly created by the Association for Coaching (AC) and the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) was launched in February 2016.

What can I expect after I've signed up for a package?

Once you’ve chosen and paid for your package I will be in touch by email within 48 hours with your welcome kit. This will include a contract that would need to be signed, along with a client intake form which would need to filled out before our sessions begin so we can make the most of our 60-minute coaching session. A calendar link will also be provided for you to book your sessions along with your unique zoom link for all our sessions together.

How does email support between sessions work?

It is common to have breakthroughs after the session is complete. Email support between sessions gives you the space to share any wins you have or obstacles you might face so we can create more momentum as we work towards your goals during our 1:1 sessions. Email support takes place during the business hours of 8 am – 6 pm GMT+4, Monday to Friday.

What if I am looking for a package to address different needs?

All outcomes are dependant on what you as the client bring to the coaching sessions. If we haven’t covered what you’re looking for here in terms of your long term goals, feel free to reach out.
